Players
are awarded points for participating and points for winning.
More
points are awarded in the post-season then during the season.
Bonus points are added for reaching a certain number of victories.

What the above ranking system shows is that a win at #4 singles and a loss at #1 singles are the same for singles ratings. What it also means is the best #4 singles player (say 10 wins and no losses) is equal to the worst #1 singles player (say 10 losses and no wins) before bonus points and post (-season) points are added. A #4 singles player will never reach the top ranking just by virtue of there being less point earning potential as compared to a #1 singles player.
