Apr 29 - Hopkins -- Mankato West was blanked for the first time this season, losing 7-0 to The Blake School of Hopkins in a non-conference match on Monday.

Jesse Brauer lost just his second match of the season, falling 6-3, 6-3 to two-time state player Chi Pham. Jesse has had Chi's number lately in USTA matches, but the heavy winds seemed to contribute to Chi's win and Jesse's lost of the match. Colin McGuire had a tough opponent in Grady Neuman, losing 6-2, 6-2. Ross Moody won 3 games at #3, all in the third set, against Ben Crane.

In doubles, Cory Anderson and Sam McCullough won 3 games at #3 doubles. It was the closest a West doubles team came to winning.

Mankato West faces Rochester Mayo on Tuesday in a Big 9 conference match. They host Mankato East on Thursday in the big cityside rivalry match.
