  ANSWERS

01

Why is it so expensive?

To newcomers of tennis, our camps can seem expensive. Relative to most tennis camps, we are unbelievably affordable. Many camps charge you $400 or more for just 1 week of camp. With us, you don't have to pay for housing, food, etc. Just tennis, fitness, & fun! If money is a problem, please call us--we do have benefactors who can sometimes help with your expenses.

02

How do I know what class I or my son or daughter should be in?

Please call us. We like to have a free 1/2 hour to 45 minute evaulation lesson where we see where your current level is and how you learn. Then we tell you what level will be best for you--where you'll grow & develop your game the most.

03

What if I don't like my level or how do I get to the next level?

We try very hard to insure that the right camp fits every player--and when you are ready to move up to another level, we're all for it! We want you to strive to get better and want to move to a higher level. We'll keep you informed of where you're at in a camp and what goals you need to accomplish to reach the next level. It's constant assessment, goals, & reassessment. We try to put you at the level best suited for you and so that you not only get better, but you improve those around you.

04

What if we can't make it everyday?

We're flexible with your schedule. But if you want to stay even with those in the camp, you may wish to add a discounted private lesson here or there. It is not, however, required, unless you are borderline with the level you are in. If you tell us ahead of time, we will put together handouts so the missed days are not so big as well as pro-rate the fees for your schedule.

05

Are matches played?

We will be playing matches--beyond just against your fellow campers. We will be playing Junior USTA Team Tennis as well as playing JETSETTERS--advanced area players who wish to improve area junior players.

06

Do you have to be a MATC member to be in the camps?

No, you can do the camps with or without being an MATC member. Our camps are discounted 5% for all junior and family MATC members as well other discounts in junior tournaments.

07

What if we are sick, can't make it, etc.

We wish you to keep us informed of your child's schedule, including lateness, early appointments, etc. as we take this into account in our drills and matchplay.

08

Do you do fitness in the camp?

We do daily fitness included some running, workouts on commercial equipment, and some running and medicine ball work--all to make you quicker and healthier on the court.

09

My son or daughter has asthma or ... that makes fitness difficult, do you accommodate them?

We do. We have you fill out a form before camp so we know what your child is capable of and proceed accordingly.

10

Where are you located?

We're 5 miles south of Mankato, on Highway 22--5 miles straight south of Walmart. We're next to the Terrace View Golf Course and we are located on the west side of the road. We're the big steel yellow building.

11

Are food and beverages provided?

Yes, some limited food and beverage is supplied. There is Culligan water on every court but we also have homemade cookies and bars everyday of camp. Plus, refreshments can be purchased in the pro shop.

12

Where do most kids come from that play at the camps?

Most of the players at the camp are local--from Mankato first as well as Fairmont, Mapleton, Wells, St. James, St. Peter, etc. but once in awhile we also have players come from Iowa or some better players from around Minnesota or beyond who stop in for a week or so.
